Plan routes and places
Plan a new route, or save places you want to visit. More info on the Planner start screen shows examples.

Plan a route
- Open Planner → Start a new plan.
- Choose Draw route, then a Travel mode: touring bike, road bike, mountain bike, hiking, or car.
- Click the map to add points. The route follows paths between them.
- Click Save.
Distance, climb, time, and an elevation profile update as you edit. Your recorded tracks and public trails are shown for reference only; the route follows your points and the travel mode.
Change the route
- Move a point: drag it, or click it and choose Move to…, then click the new position.
- More options: click a point to Remove point, Start route here, or End route here.
- Tools: Reverse route or Clear route. Clearing the route keeps your saved places.
- Undo and Redo work for all changes.
Keyboard: with the map focused, Alt+Left/Right selects route points and Enter opens their options.
Drag the panel down to see more of the map. More map shrinks it to the totals; Show tools brings the tools back.
Save places
Choose Points of interest to add named places with an icon and an optional note. A plan can contain a route, places, or both.
Open a saved plan
On the Planner start screen:
- Continue your current plan returns to your unsaved draft.
- Continue a saved plan opens a saved plan to edit it or export it as GPX.
Save copy saves your changes as a new plan and keeps the original.
GPX export contains only the route, not the places. Plans don't count in your activity statistics.
If routes don't finish, see route planning service.
