Get started

You need a running MTL Explorer. Install it, or try the public demo.

The public demo already contains tracks. Uploads, manual rescans, Garmin sync, issue acknowledgements, source review decisions, and re-assessment are unavailable there. Track, media, and planner edits remain available. Start at step 4.

  1. Open your installation's /mtl/ address and sign in.
  2. Open Settings → Import & sync and upload a few GPS files. You can also copy them into the server's GPS folder.
  3. Open Settings → Processing and wait until the import is done. If the map asks you to reload, click Reload.
  4. Open Filter and choose which tracks to show, for example a year or an activity type.
  5. Click a track on the map. If several tracks overlap, choose one from the list.
  6. Look at the track's tabs:
    • Overview and Graphs: distance, time, elevation, and speed.
    • Quality: why a value is missing or unreliable.
    • Media: photos and videos from that activity.
    • Events: breaks and GPS gaps.
  7. Open Statistics to see your totals and trends.

Want to try it without your own data? Use the example archive.

Don't see a track? It may still be processing, be hidden by a filter, or need review. See troubleshooting.
